PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

As a first line of defense, a great waterproof membrane will stop any water coming into contact with your below ground structure. This is important because concrete will invariably crack, be it from settlement, unequal static forces or during curing. Needless to say, subsequent water ingress can cause extensive harm to your structure and internal environments.

The super-absorbing and self-healing properties of Silverseal® make it suitable for most structural waterproofing applications including tunnel sealing.

The ultra-low weight makes this membrane extremely easy to handle on site and also very efficient as a waterproofing component in the production of prefabricated concrete elements.

Application – Where to use Silverseal®

Silverseal® is designed for the sealing and protection of below ground reinforced concrete structures and replaces all kinds of conventional waterproofing materials such as bituminous liners, coatings and synthetic membranes.

Main areas of application:

  • Structural waterproofing of floor slabs and exterior concrete walls
  • Below ground reinforced concrete structures like foundations and tunnels
  • Pressurized and non-pressurized water
  • In prefab applications
  • Approved for use in saltwater conditions

Technology – How does Silverseal® work?

The unique sealing properties of Silverseal® are attained through two functions;

  1. The first sealing function lies in the high-density PE-membrane
  1. The second sealing function is only activated if the membrane is damaged and the incoming water activates the swelling non-woven geotextile.

If water penetrates the membrane, the water reactive polymer swells thus creating an extremely tight, gel-like film which permanently seals the concrete structure.
